North Caledonian League Confirms 13-Club Lineup For New Season

The North Caledonian Football League has revealed its 2026/27 composition, with 13 clubs set to compete in a single division starting on 8th August.

The North Caledonian Football League has confirmed its lineup for the 2026/27 season, with 13 clubs set to compete.

The league features a mix of established Highland sides and newer entrants, with Alness United, St Duthus, Thurso, Fort William, Halkirk United and Orkney among the confirmed participants.

Notably, Clachnacuddin's reserve side (Clachnacuddin A) will compete in the league alongside Inverness Athletic, Inverness Thistle, Golspie Sutherland, Bonar Bridge, Bunillidh Thistle and Dingwall.

The season kicks off on Saturday 8th August — two weeks after the WoSFL gets underway — with Alness hosting St Duthus in one of the opening fixtures.
💡 Why It Matters
The North Caledonian League provides competitive football for clubs in the Highlands and Islands who sit outside the Highland Football League structure. For many of these communities, their local club is the only football presence, making this league vital for grassroots sport in Scotland's most remote areas.
